What are the Fibroblast Plasma procedures?

Fibroblast Plasma Skin Tightening and Resurfacing procedures are innovative treatments that offer results comparable to surgery and other invasive treatments, however, there are no lasers, scalpels nor suturing involved. The treated area is sublimated (converted directly to vapor) using the plasma arc, immediately reducing surface area of the skin (creating the tightening effect) and stimulating new collagen production. This procedure can be used to lift and tighten any area of the body, remove dark spots, skin tags and moles, as well as resurface the skin to treat scars, stretch marks and other blemishes.

Is it painful?

The answer to this depends on several factors, however, most clients describe it as feeling moderately painful.  We will use a numbing agent prior to beginning your procedure.  While most clients find it moderately painful but tolerable, on occasion those with lower pain tolerance may experience excessive discomfort - and then there are those lucky ones who don’t feel much of anything!  Clients on their menstrual cycle may experience increased discomfort, so it is advised to plan accordingly.

How long will it last?

The results of this procedure bare results that are comparable to similar surgical and resurfacing treatments. Since we are actually eliminating skin surface area, only your inevitable aging process and your lifestyle (sun exposure, smoking, skin care, etc.) will “undo” the results (again, just like the comparable procedures)! At times more than one treatment will be recommended or desired, which allows for more dramatic results and increased longevity of results.

How long does the procedure take?

The length of the procedure depends on the size area to be treated. Smaller areas, like an eye lift, could take 1-2 hours (including numbing and additional consulting), while larger areas, like full face lift, chest or stomach, could take several hours.

What is the process like?

The whole process begins with your consultation.  During this time we will discuss your goals and customize a specific plan for you.  Once your appointment begins you'll begin numbing while you fill out remaining paperwork and revisit your goals for the procedure.

The procedure itself uses a tool that creates a plasma arc (like a tiny lightning bolt!) that travels from the machine to your skin’s surface (think a large pen that never actually touches your skin). The area of the skin that the arc touches is sublimated (converted directly to vapor), immediately reducing surface area of the skin (creating the tightening effect) and stimulating new collagen production. Generally you will be left with a series of tiny dots that will fall of in 4-7 days. This procedure can be used to lift and tighten any area of the body, remove dark spots, skin tags and moles, as well as resurface the skin to treat scars, stretch marks and other blemishes. Results are immediate, however there is typically some swelling within the first couple of days. Once swelling subsides and the dots have fallen off the treated area will continue to improve for 2-4 months as new collagen is produced!

Upon completion you'll be advised of your at-home aftercare procedures and will be given the appropriate materials to follow these guidelines.  If additional treatments are recommended or desired they may be schedule within 6-12 weeks for a discounted rate.

What is the recovery process like?

You may experience some swelling, redness and a little soreness for 2-3 days following your procedure. The treated area will be covered in a brown crust - either made up of tiny brown dots for lifting procedures or fully covered for resurfacing treatments - that will fall off in 4-7 days. You will need to keep the area clean and dry and will be provided with both an antiseptic cleaning solution and a collagen cream.   Results are immediate, however once swelling subsides and the dots have fallen off the treated area will continue to improve for 2-4 months as new collagen is produced! Occasionally additional treatments will be recommended or desired for optimal results.
